RVDIOVCTIVE Celebrates Five Years at Miami Music Week

#followthefish is the hashtag emerging from the raucous Miami Music Week activities cluttering my newsfeed as the RVDIOVCTIVE crew makes their way towards Miami for yet another year of unforgettable parties with some of the industry's most talented artists. However, this year is different. 2017 marks the 5th anniversary of RVDIOVCTIVE's pilgrimage to the 305 and their unique place in the pantheon of legendary Miami Music Week parties. Gathering artists who've had support from labels such as OWSLA, Dirtybird, Slow Roast, This Ain't BristolPsycho Disco and more, RVDIOVCTIVE's signature artistic curation has led to a lineup of artists unlike any other party you'll go to, especially for one that's free with RSVP. Not bound by genre, style, location, or label, RVDIOVCTIVE spans the spectrum of musical tastes and presents something for everyone, from the most finicky music snob to the relative newbie. Not only is this RVDIOVCTIVE's 5th year anniversary, but this is my third year in a row covering their Miami Music Week Party series. Ever since I got to know the RVDIOVCTIVE crew, I realized that their taste in music had a certain depth of musical knowledge, satisfying both the crowd they were aiming to entertain as well as the crowd they were aiming to educate. Always a delicate balance, RVDIOVCTIVE's party series consistently deliver a blend of the familiar and diverse, the popular and the underground, in a way that expands your musical horizons while making you feel right at home. For instance take their 2015 party, which featured relative newcomers Jauz, mija, and NGHTMRE, or their 2016 parties which featured Golf Clap, Sonny Fodera, Billy Kenny, Will Clarke and Felix da Housecat. The fact that these names now grace headlining festival lineups is no coincidence.

RVDIOVCTIVE's eyes were on the horizon as the musical tides changed, giving fans an intimate showcase of artists who they had yet to discover, but would soon be among their favorites. Keeping their fingers on the pulse of current dance music scene, this year, on their 5th anniversary, RVDIOVCTIVE has stacked the lineup in the fans' favor.

RVDIOVCTIVE Rooftop Party Lineup

This year's lineup is the most impressive to date, featuring OWSLA star mija, Dirtybird co-founder Worthy (who I interviewed a couple weeks back), Dirtybird's J. Phlip, Billy Kenny, Redlight, Anjunadeep regular Jody Wisternoff, Psycho Disco-supported Codes (whose single Boom Bapps is making huge waves on Spotify) and more. With a nod to our shared home city, RVDIOVCTIVE is bringing some of my New York favorites along, including the rapidly rising stars Walker & Royce, Ant LaRock, Charles Meyer, Love & Logic, Sleepy & Boo and the up and coming Gromo. And of course, the RVDIOVCTIVE crew themselves will spend time behind the decks, with sets by Devon James, Will OB, Rupert Wall and James Ellington. As someone who regularly attends RVDIOVCTIVE events throughout NYC, I can guarantee that the crew exceeds expectations every single time. Without a doubt, someone who is looking for tasteful, carefully curated selections in Miami this week needs to give serious consideration to RVDIOVCTIVE's 5th Anniversary Party. Be sure to RSVP here for free entry!
