The official sprawling schedule for Bumbershoot 2015 came out last week and I instantly went into planning mode. All of the set times for the full three days is a little bulky to post here, but you can find it here on the official website
Things can always (and probably will) change in the heat of the moment, but from a long ways out, this is where Only The Beat will most likely be throughout the weekend. Hopefully the weather shows up too.
Saturday, September 5th
3:15pm - 3:55pm (Memorial Stadium) - Lil Dicky
6:30pm - 7:15 (Key Arena) - RAC
I didn't get to see RAC when he was in Seattle (I'm sure I was at Foundation or something). Really the best way to describe his music is 'pleasant.' Not a lot of people make remixes like André does.
7:15pm - 7:45pm (EMP Sky Church) - Conner Thomas v Altesse
7:45pm - 8:30pm (EMP Sky Church) - Pinky Promise v Subsonic Drops
Dropping in early on the USC Silent Disco
to see some of my good friends do their thing. Check out our SoundCloud playlist for the whole weekend.
8:30pm - 9:15pm (#neverTamed Stage) - Cake
9:45pm - 10:45pm (#neverTamed Stage) - Lindsey Stirling
I just discovered Lindsey while doing research on the artists and am so smitten. Blending electronic music, strings, and a bit of pop culture into her music, she takes a wildly unique approach to electronic music, which is not something you can say about everyone these days.
Wrapping up day one with plenty of time to hit the bars.
Maybe I'll go check out Dannic at Foundation or try and catch Cartographer's set at Q, since I'm not sure I'll make their slot during the silent disco tomorrow
. Yeah, Bumbershoot starts on a Saturday. Whoops. But hey, Fedde Le Grand is a great after party option too.
Sunday, September 6th
5:00pm - 6:15pm (Memorial Stadium) - Brand New
6:30 - 7:15pm (Starbucks Stage) - Classixx
Any of you catch their set at the Gorge this summer? I got turned into these guys by a coworker. As far as this whole disco revival things is going, they seem to be doing a little more than just riding the bandwagon.
7:15pm - 7:45pm (Key Arena) - Tchami
Ta-chami? Chami? Shami? I don't know...but it makes me feel like I can shuffle (I can't).
8:15pm - 9:15pm (Key Arena) - Flosstradamus
Not usually my jam, but I'm always down to try something new. And who doesn't like getting a little rachet from time to time? I'm just trying to picture my mom's face if she heard this song...
9:45pm - 11:15pm (Key Arena) - Zedd
I unfortunately missed Zedd when he was here for Paradiso last year. While I'm not totally down with whatever it is Selena Gomez is making him produce, his early electro (and even some of his current tracks) is worth seeing without question.
Day two down. Thank God for federal holidays.
Monday, September 7th
3:45pm - 4:30 (Memorial Stadium) - Robert Delong
Bleep bloop. Bleepity bloop Robert Delong.
5:45pm - 6:30pm (Starbucks Stage) - Hey Marseilles
7:30pm - 8:30pm (#neverTamed Stage) - Devotchka
8:45pm - 10:00pm - (Memorial Stadium) - Ellie Goulding
How do you not love Ellie? I've never seen her live, but I'm really intrigued to see how she sings vocals to the dance tracks she's a part of. Oh downside is we're probably not getting of the remixes.
10:00pm - 11:30pm - Bassnectar
Closing out a very long, very full weekend with one of my biggest highlights from Paradiso 2014. I'll be bringing my earplugs for this one.
It's been over a decade since I've been to Bumbershoot (which is a sentence that makes me feel way too old). We'll see how many alarms I have to set for work Tuesday.
What does your Labor Day Bumbershoot weekend look like? How does Only The Beat's schedule sound? Is there anything we're missing that we have to go check out? Hope to see you out there!
