Ladies and gents, JES
is back! This time, the lovely trance/house DJ and vocalist is unrolling a series of dance mixes made for booty-shaking that feature favorite songs she uses in her sets. Premiering today, her "Platinum Mix" is the first of four mixes that will be released throughout the year. I must say that this mix is preeeetty cool - as I was playing it out loud in my living room, various housemates of mine found themselves pumping their fists to the beat. Mission of unleashing the beat accomplished? I think so!
Here are some tracks that caught my attention:
Ad Brown with Shawn Mitiska - Pulse
When I first heard this song, I thought, "This sounds like something I would hear on Group Therapy!" Turns out I was right - appearing its first time on Group Therapy
episode 58, Ad Brown and Shawn Mitiska
bring us a light yet smashing progressive track that made me smile. With hints of piano and fun chord progressions along with the airy tone many Anjuna-esque songs posses, I was instantly a fan!
Ferry Corsten ft JES - In Your Eyes (Dirty Chips Club Remix)
Now, that's what I call some good progressive house music! Bringing a fun remix of Ferry Corsten's
classic track, Dirty Chips, relatively unknown to me, made me flashback to when I fervently listened to house like this back a few years ago while showing that a track does not need to be "big room" to be amazing. This girl here is a fan!
Roger Shah JES & Brian Laruso - Higher Than the Sun (Aly & Fila Remix)
Yessssss gimme that 138
! As a huge fan of the more uplifting styles of trance, naturally this track, the last on the mix, was my favorite. As per usual, Aly & Fila
demonstrated their prowess in the genre by setting JES's haunting vocals between an equally emotional breakdown and strong melody. Yum.
