This one is a throwback to December 2013 when Big Wild released "Ayahuasca At Night," on DIEHIGH Records. With a name like DIEHIGH, you can probably imagine what the mission behind their music is. However, just in case you weren't quite clear on their purpose, take a look at the 'About' section of their Facebook page. It simply reads, "Internet floatation device." So, in the words of Modest Mouse, float on. "Ayahuasca At Night," definitely keeps up with their mission, offering vibes best described by comments on Soundcloud such as "Big," "Dope as fuck," and "Raba warya keda." It's a groovy track, but not up-beat or happy by any means. Resonating with sounds reminiscent of Zooly and other artists who stick to the darker side of trap, this is one for the couch, not the club. Stemming from a relentless desire to create something new, Big Wild's sound taps into the natural curiosity we all share by exploring beyond conventional boundaries in music. Big Wild seems to also be down for the DIEHIGH cause. Taking a quick look at his Soundcloud will reveal remixes of tracks like Danny Brown's "Blunt After Blunt," which could be described as big room trap. Big Wild is all about keeping the dancing queen at your local club grinding away, but takess a break this time around for a slightly more chilled out track. The namesake for the track itself, Ayahuasca, is a psychedelic brew made out of Banisteriopsis caapi vine,  alone or in combination with various plants. It is either mixed with the leaves of dimethyltryptamine (DMT)-containing species of shrubs from the genus Psychotria or with the leaves of the Justicia pectoralis plant, which does not contain DMT. How indigenous peoples discovered the synergistic properties of the plants used in the ayahuasca brew remains unclear. However, many indigenous Amazonian people say they received the instructions directly from plants and plant spirits. So yeah. Get out there and do your part for the greater good of DIEHARD Records and Big Wild and check out some of their tracks!
