Raving in a Chinese Restaurant with ƱZ

Dim Sum by day, nightclub by night, 88 Palace hosted the masked mystery man of trap music, UZ, last Saturday. The night started with New York City regulars DKDS, dropping deep house in anticipation of the trap insanity that was to follow. Opening for UZ was Tanner Caldwell, who warmed up the crowd by shifting the mood from deep house to the trap everyone was ready to hear. Following Caldwell's set, a masked figure emerged from behind the modest light setup and smoke machine. UZ took over the tables, dropping exclusive new remixes along with crowd favorites from his "Trap Shit Series." Admission was limited, which meant that, despite the strangeness of essentially raving in a restaurant, there were enough people there to make it an exciting show while leaving plenty of room for you to have your own space.

UZ’s Phenomenal Dark Disco at 88 Palace

Small and dark without being overcrowded, this show was an experience not to be missed. Anyone looking for a more complete UZ collection (along with some free downloads), I highly suggest Balltrap Music Vol. 1 and his set for the UKF Podcast. Enjoy!
